Project:

The ACE Green project will develop the freight logistics on the Nordland Railway to increase the share of rail transports to and from Nordland. Through development work in 2016, the partners in Mosjøen, Mo i Rana and Bodø have mapped a significant potential for freight transfer from road to track in both directions.

The project will help to unlock the potential by initiating better logistics solutions and new train services for industry and business in the north. It will also strengthen the basis for a new boat route from Bodø to Tromsø.

The project consists of 3 work packages

Work package 1: Development of logistics for increased freight traffic on the track.
Work package 2: Integration of hubs, car/train terminals and ports.
Work package 3: More efficient regional distribution – car, boat and track.

Goals 2020: Transfer 7,500 trailer trips from road to track, to and from Nordland per year.
Result 2020: Over 13,000 trailer trips from road to track in Nordland.

The project will be completed in 2020.
